Just under one year before we leave and there's still more work to do on the boat. There has been a lot of upgrades to do before we leave. Last year we had a new Dodger Bimini and Sail cover installed. Not very happy with the work done by Sportech. One year later and it's still not finished.
This year we have done a lot of work. I have had some work done buy Northshore Boatworks and they do good work. I have had an Macerator Pump for pumping black water overboard when we are in the ocean.

Also they installed a water maker ( Desalinator ) for making fresh water from salt water.

We have installed two new Solar Panels with the help from Dan Klick at Kweld
Dan designed the frame and installed the panels.
To go with the solar panel I had to buy an new Xantrex inverter that was installed by Peter at Northshore Boatworks
There's still more to do and test before next year.

Some people have asked me what Mauna Kea means so Laurie has found a little bit of information.

Mauna Kea means" White Mountain" Known in
native traditions and prayers. Meaning" Mauna A Wakea" The mountain of Wakea"
It is 1 million years old. The last eruption of this dormant volcano was 6,000 years ago.
It is known to the locals for a great place for skiing and snowboarding. It is 9 km.
above the ocean floor.
The air is thin and the winds are gusty up to 50-70 m.p.h. This makes Mauna Kea the tallest
Island mountain. It is a sacred site among  the natives for sky watching and star gazing.
the 4200 meter high mountain of Mauna Kea house the worlds largest island mountain
observatory for optical, infrared astronomy.

I don't know why the name of a volcano would be a good name for a boat. It's bad luck to change the name unless you go through a ceremony that involves a lot of drinking. For now Mauna Kea will have to remain the name of our boat.
