 April 2022

After CFB Greenwood was finished two of us from Ontario and one Telus tech from the east coast went to CFB Gagetown. The other tech Daryl went to Happy Valley Goose Bay up in Labrador. To get to Gagetown Perry and I decided to catch the ferry from Digby N.S. to St John N.B. I couldn't find a place to stay in Fredericton so I stayed in St John for a month and commuted to Gagetown, an hour each way.

                                                       Digby

Digby is a very nice East Coast fishing port. Great if you like sea food!

                                                Ferry ride was smooth

I had a nice little two bedroom apartment in St John. Here it is, and looking out my back window

From St John one weekend I took a drive out to Shediac N.B. to see the big lobster. It looked like a great place to visit in the summer months, still a little cold for walking around. Here you can buy lobster off the docks.
                                    The BIG LOBSTER!

When we arrived at the base they had just started deploying phones. Gagetown is a big base and there were just under 5000 phones to install. Gagetown is an Army base with lots of different equipment.

There is a lot of heavy equipment on this base. I was allowed to take some pictures, but not inside the vehicles.

Pictures from the plane flying in. This was taken by Scott one our tech's

Here's some pictures of the big guns.

Here's some picture's of Transport vehicles

Gagetown also has an Air Force presence with the Bell CH-146 Griffin.

Here's a short video I did driving around a small part of the base with Perry.

And then came Super Bowl weekend.

After staying at St John for a month I found a nice 3 bedroom cottage on Grand Lake. It was a great place and it was closer to work.

The weather was getting a lot warmer and it was a great time to do sight seeing on the weekends. We would stop in to see our new friend Jason working on his vintage jeeps. He has his own company restoring Army Jeeps and he does great work.

On our way to Jason's we had to stop and take a picture of the BIG POTATO!

Perry and I also drove out to Nackawic N.B. one weekend to see the BIG AXE

Laurie finally came out to Fredericton for a visit and the weather was perfect for exploring the city on scooters.

We finally finish this big job in June and it was time to move on. I have been in Gagetown on and off since November of 2021 to June of 2022. I have met a lot of nice people and made some great friends. It's the people I will miss very much.

                                               Next stop CFB Winnipeg
